Total Fencers 16

Considering the day before was an all day, three weapon Adult Open fencing
tournament, we had a decent turnout of 16. Some of us were moving a little
slower than most Stab-N-Grabs. I, for one, was a bit foot-sore. We had a long
time absent Red Rocker, Michelle Ricciardo show up for the Stab-N-Grab. It
was great to see her again, and she did pretty well for not practicing. One of the
cool things was that more than half the people had not participated in the
prior day's event, that means we've got a pretty good size body of fencers
who are showing up for events. Yippee! More better-er fencing!

Round One was slow to start with equipment problems but we eventually got it
going. It opened with a pint-size battle between Jack and Patrick. It was
great, neither one is afraid and they fought well with Patrick taking the win.
Eric and Frank followed and Frank won that battle. Joseph and last week's winner,
Sean followed with an upset by Joseph. Filip and Michele (the foil fencer) saw
Filip win, but Michele showed no fear and surprised Filip for a few touches. Jin
and Libby followed with Jin getting revenge for his defeat the previous week.
Apparently his back is getting mmmuuuccchhhh better. Michelle (long lost) faced
Jessica in a pretty even battle with Michelle's long arm getting the win. Son,
Alan fought father, John. John almost toppled his taller and more experienced
son. Stephanie and Tony (the pirate) finished the round with Tony winning, arrrrgghh.

Round two started with Frank and Patrick. Frank was thrilled and pint-size Patrick
was not happy nor a winner (this time). Joseph faced Filip but was not able to
pull another upset. Jin and Michelle fought and Jin won again. Alan and Tony
finished the round with Alan dominating Tony. I guess fleching a pirate is a
a good thing, at least in epee.

Frank faced Filip to start round three. Neither fencer was very excited about it.
But this time Filip was able to win since Frank started down two touches. Jin
and Alan faced off and in a very close battle Jin was able to take the victory.
Like I said earlier, his back must be getting wwwaaaayyyyyy better. The final
was Filip and Jin. Filip seemed to be able to get past Jin's fast hand work
with little problem. He was very patient and won the bout 4 to 1. It was great
to see Pierre Reposte back in Filip's possession.
