Total Fencers 8
The new year began with a small group. Only eight fencers began the new
year with dedication to the sport. Frank was feeling sick and wasn't going
to fence but only seven players showed up so he donned his jacket and
mask and joined the fray. He did, however not move and tried to depend
only on hand movements for his defence. Needless to say this is not a
winning strategy.
The brothers Umanos started the competition. Alan was out to win and offered
no mercy to half his size brother, Jack. Jack, though, is no coward and
bravely faced his brother. Jack went down in defeat but if I were Alan, I
would be worried when little Jack gains some height and age. Greg and Stephanie
were up next and Greg made short work of Stephanie. Everett and Ava followed
with Everett making equally short work of Ava. The last bout of round one
was Libby and Frank. Libby won the bout but don't get excited because this
is the bout that Frank was too sick to move and basically gave the bout away.
Round two saw Greg and Alan with Greg moving up. It was a close bout and
Alan gave it his all. Everett and Libby were next and Everett clobbered Libby.
The final was Greg and Everett. Greg really gave it a try. He had double
hits on Everett at 4-4 at least three if not more times before Everett was
able to win the third of the new series of Stab-N-Grab and the second one
in a row. The photo below is of Greg doing a roll across the floor after
getting one of the single touches on Everett. It was very dramatic and Greg
got up ready to agrue if the director hadn't given him the touch as he
rolled off the strip.

Hopefully, now that the holidays are over people will return. We
did have a long lost member, Tony Johnson (voted best pirate "Argh") show
up. He was too late for the Stab-N-Grab but did some fencing afterwards and
swears he will be back for regular practices.
