Total Fencers 14
We were down a couple of people from last week and I'm sure it was due to the
tournament on Saturday. It was originally a Youth Tournament, except there was
some miscommunication about when the Adult and when the Youth tournaments were
happening. To satisfy the disgruntled adults, the adult tournament was moved to
the same weekend as the Youth tournament. Not that you wanted to know all that
but it was my theory as to why we were missing some people.
To jump right into the event. Frank and Joseph got byes in the first round.
Jack and Patrick were the first bout and it was great. The boys are pretty
evenly matched and the crowd was very much into the bout. After a very close
match Patrick won much to Jack's disappointment. Andrew and Jessica followed
with Andrew and his magic pants taking the win. It seems that Andrew actually
has fencing knickers now and has decided that they are good luck. The crowd,
including his mother were cheering him and his pants to victory. Ava and
Stephanie were the next match up. It was described by more than one person as
the perfect match up. Ava was able to move up although Stephanie really gave it
a try. Jonah and Alan faced off with Alan winning. Libby and Tony followed with
a surprise win by Libby. Ray and Jim fenced with Ray's unique style overcoming Jim.
Frank started round two with a pretty easy victory over Patrick. Andrew and his
magic pants were able to defeat Ava easily. Alan and Libby followed with a close
match-up and Alan winning by one touch. Ray and Joseph finished the round with
Ray again taking a win.

Frank fought Andrew to start round three and this time Andrew's magic pants weren't
quite lucky enough to defeat Frank, although it was a five to four loss. Alan
and Ray followed and Alan fleched his way to victory. The final was Frank and Alan.
Since Frank has already won three Stab-N-Grabs, he started the battle down three
touches and Alan took full advantage of that and managed to get past Frank without
a single touch against him. There was great joy in mudville (to steal a reference
from another sport).
