Total Fencers 24
Week number nine saw twenty-four fencers show up to compete. We have now reached
fifty people in total who have participated in at least one Stab-N-Grab event.
This week saw our second two time winner, Scott Carlson. Frank now has company
on the multiple win list. This week's competitors included a sabre fencer and
and some foilists. Corruption of the other weapons continues! Muuaaaaaaa, whoops
using my outside voice.
Round one of twenty-four fencers had two strips going. The first bout was Brian E.
and Alan R. with Alan winning. Steve and Greg were on strip two and Greg took out
Steve. First timer Patrick went up against Ja with Ja moving up. Nicco and Libby
faced off with Libby moving ahead. Filip and Jake were next and Filip took the
win. Another first timer Ellen took on Lisa with Lisa moving to the next level.
Cathy and Ava were next with Cathy winning. Brian H. and Scott were the last of
the first rounders with Scott moving on.
Round two saw two Alan's facing off. Alan R. versus Alan U., maturity and skill
took the day with Alan R. winning. Ken and Deanna were next with Ken going to
the next level. Tony and last week's winner Greg were next. These two trade wins
often and this week was Tony's turn. Ja faced the saber fencer Jason and took
him down. Libby and Jessica were next and Libby went up in overtime. Unlucky Filip
went against Frank in his next bout and Frank moved up. Eric and Lisa were next
with Eric moving up. Cathy and Scott were the final bout of round two and Scott
took the day.
Round three saw Alan R. against Ken with Ken sqeaking by. Tony dropped to Ja in
the next bout. Libby was the next unlucky person to drop to Frank's skill. Eric
faced Scott with Eric forcing Scott to work for his win.
Round four began with Ken and Ja facing off. Ja took down Ken. Next was a real
thriller bout with Scott and Frank facing off. As usual, Frank and Scott smack
talked before the event, so it is always fun to watch and see who lives up to
his smack talk. Anyway, this week Scott took down Frank to much cheering and
jeering! The final bout ended up being Scott and Ja. Ja did a great job, he got
very close to defeating Scott but experience and longer arms prevailed. So Scott
won his second tournament and was seen kissing Pierre Reposte Trophy!
Due to the cost of running the air conditioning during the summer, we're asking
competitors for voluntary donations for participating. We're going to put out a can for
donations. We asking for $5 each. We also will start a raffle with the prize being
a new blade (blade type of your choice). Tickets will be $5 each.
The next Stab-N-Grab will be next Sunday, June 14th.
