The fifth Stab-N-Grab on Sunday, May 3rd was another great turnout. We had eighteen people,
including three non-Red Rock people. We have now had 29 people participate
in at least one Stab-N-Grab. Two of the people were foil fencers who wanted to
join in the competition. Next we just need to corrupt a saber fencer for two
and our evil plan will be complete (whoops sorry that was my outside voice). The
fifth Stab-N-Grab was another Stab-Grab-N-Grub as well. Sirley treated us to pasta
with meat sauce. Another fine feasting it was too. Some of the post-event conversation
turned to what else we can get him to cook for us on a two burner tabletop stove.



There were only two first round bouts because of the 32 person tableau. Of the two
bouts Frank beat Steve and Sirley beat Cathy. The next round saw Frank move past Tony.
Jessica fell to Filip, Michele lost to Libby and Eric beat Dominic. Leona was stopped by
Ja. Alec (our guest from FAN) won over Greg. Alan topped Scott and in the last bout of
the second round, Sirley took Ken.



The third round of bouts found Frank fighting Filip. It seems these two face
each other frequently. Frank squeaked by Filip. As they both had been winners
in previous Stab-N-Grabs, Frank started with two touches against him and Filip with
one. Libby defeated Eric. Ja lost to Alec. The last of the bouts saw Sirley beating Alan.

The fourth table of fencers saw Frank crush Libby and Alec took Sirley. And then there
were two, Frank and Alec. Ironic, actually, as they warmed up against each other before
the event started. The room filled with spectators to witness the final bout. Cheers
for both fencers echoed throughout the center as the two faced off. Frank started
with two touches against him. At the end of the day, Alec took the day, five touches
to four. We witnessed some of the best fencing we have seen to date by all participants.




Just a reminder - there shall be no Stab-N-Grab next weekend due to prior scheduled.event.
