For a Sunday after Thanksgiving we had a good turnout. Fifteen people
showed up to get a little exercise and to work off their turkey and pie.
We were missing a couple of the regulars so all in all it was a really
good turnout. It was a day of upsets too, so maybe there had been too
much turkey with all the trimmings for some people.


Jack, a.k.a. The Giant Killer and Andrew were first up. Andrew was able
to defeat little Jack but the crowd was very much on Jack's side. Jessica
and Ken were next and one of our first upsets was Jessica taking the win.
Greg and Frank followed and Greg fulfilled his primary purpose for showing
up, to beat Frank. Tank and Deanna were next and another of the upsets of
the day was Deanna defeating Tank. Jonah and Alan were next and in a very
close match Alan was able to move up. John and Austin were next with Austin
moving to the next round. Lastly, Libby and Michele with Michele moving on.


Round two began with Stephanie, who had the only bye in round one, against
Andrew. Andrew swiftly moved up. Jessica and Greg were next and Greg was
was able to out reach the left-handed Jessica. Deanna and Alan were next
and Alan managed to move on. Lastly, Austin and Michele fought with Austin
continuing to the next round.


Round three started with Andrew and Greg with the more experienced and
taller Greg taking the win. Alan and Austin faced off next and Alan
neatly defeated Austin and moved up. The final was Greg and Alan, two
people who regularly fence and on this day Greg was able to beat Alan
by one touch and move into the group of fencers who have won Pierre
three times.
