We had a fair turnout considering the day before was a grueling all
day Vegas Cup event. Several fencers had participated in all three
weapons. As a result it seemed that several of us were a little slower
than usual because of the previous day's exertions. It was a fun day
though, spirits were high and everyone was cheering for the favorities
and/or the underdogs.


Deanna and Ken were the first bout with Deanna taking a surprise win
over Ken. We're guessing Ken was a little tired since he was one of
the people who participated in all three weapons the day before. Philip
and Stephanie were next with Philip moving up. Austin and Filip followed
with Austin getting the single touch needed to move past Filip. Andrew
faced Frank and tried his best to get the single touch he needed to win
but Frank's experience gave him the win.


Ryan and Deanna started round two with Ryan moving on. Philip and Libby
followed with Philip getting the win. Jonah upset Austin and moved up.
Eric and Frank were the final bout with Eric swiftly moving past Frank.
Frank was just happy to have made it out of the first round. Starting
each bout with four touches against him really offers a challenge.


Ryan and Philip started round three with Ryan moving to the final round.
Jonah beat Eric in a huge upset. Jonah very new to fencing showed no
fear and was very aggressive and it paid off. The final was Ryan and
Jonah. It was the first time for both fencers to be in a Stab-N-Grab
final. It was a well fought battle and in a huge surprise, newcomer in
all senses of the word, Jonah came out the winner. We expect we'll be
seeing him around for a while.
