Total Fencers 13
The third Stab-N-Grab took place on Sunday, April 19th. The day was filled
with chaos as two events were happening at the same time. A meet-up group
was scheduled at the same time as the Stab-N-Grab. The back room was filled
with meet-up beginners while the front room, strip 1, hosted thirteen stabbers.
Coach participated in the Stab-N-Grab while also teaching the Meet-up beginners.
Each time Frank had a bout, one or more of the Stabbers filled in so he could
fence. I would like to offer my thanks to everyone who helped keep the stabbing
going so Coach could play and teach.
Ken and Greg began the event with Greg moving to the next level. Michele and
Frank were next with Frank taking the victory. Filip and Sirley matched up
with Filip taking the win. Austin and Ryan faced off, Ryan took the victory.
Leona, a first time stabber, faced Scott and made Scott work for his win.
Round two began with Tony and Greg facing off. Greg rallied when his beer was
threatened. Filip faced Frank, a bout between the winners of the first and
second stabbings, with Frank proving the vicotry. Libby and Ryan were next
with Ryan proving the better fencer for the day. Scott and Brian, the two
left handers fenced off next. Scott moving up.
Round three began between Greg and Frank. Frank rose to the occassion and Greg
took the lost. Ryan and Scott were next up and Scott proved the winner.
Everyone gathered around Strip One for the final bout. The bout was exciting
but the day was clearly Scott's. A huge grin covered Scott's face as
Pierre Reposte came to be nestled in his grasp.
