We had a fair turnout this week. The competition is heating up as to
who will be the winner of the sword. Frank and Filip have both won
four Stab-N-Grabs. There's a fair number of people who have won two
or three and now others are banging at the door for their wins too.
There is all kinds of smack talk and good natured ribbing going on.
For some people it is all about keeping Filip or Frank from that final
win. It's great fun to see the excitement grow. Once we do have a final
winner we'll reset everyone to zero wins and begin again. Maybe we'll
have a grand winner before the year is out.


The day's battles began with Jessica and Ava. Ava gave it a good try
but Jessica, one time winner herself showed her counter-attack skills
and won. Alan and Ken, a very long standing rivalry were second with
Alan the winner. Stephanie and Eric were next. Stephanie, still new to
fencing was challenged and is still learning the rules and Eric took
her down. Taylor and Jack finished the first round with new comer Taylor
out reaching Jack (the giant killer).


Filip and Jessica started round two. With Filip starting with four
touches against him Jessica was able to move past him. Alan and Frank
were next with Alan getting the one touch needed to send Frank to the
proverbial showers. Libby and Eric were next with Eric squeaking past
Libby. Taylor who out-reached Jack received the same treatment from
Greg and Greg moved up.


Jessica and Alan started the semi-finals with Alan using his reach and
fleching to topple Jessica. Eric and Greg were next and much to his
disappointment Eric was able to slip under Greg's long reach to move
to the final with Alan. Eric, without a break between his bout and the
final faced Alan and gave it his best shot but the day was to be Alan's.
Alan's long been desiring his turn at the Stab-N-Grab list of victors
and welcomed Pierre with open arms and a giant smile.
