Total Fencers 9
It was a small turn out with only nine people; the few, the proud,
the obsessed. Almost everyone showed up early enough to get a good
half hour of practice before the event began. Even Frank was able to
get some warm-up in before the event started. Although this may turn
out to be the cause of the upsetting event of his victory.
It all started innocently enough. There was only one first round bout
because we had nine people. Jessica and James were the lucky ones.
James has been steadily getting better and was able to defeat former
winner Jessica. The second round started with James and Libby. As
someone noted, it seems that James got to fight all the women. Unlike
his first bout though, Libby was able to defeat James and move up.
Frank and Brian were the next bout. Brian usually doesn't get to play
Stab-N-Grab most Sundays so it was really nice to have him participate.
Frank was out for a rendez-vous with Pierre Reposte and took Brian down
without a touch being scored against him. Tank and Stephanie were next
and Tank pretty much drove right over Stephanie but she is getting
better and was able to get at least one solid touch against Tank. Scott and
Eric were the last bout of the second round. Scott's knee seems to be
fully recovered from surgery and Scott was able to use his reach to move
past Eric.
Round three started off with Libby and Frank. Frank easily took her
down and began to believe his visions of victory could come true.
Tank and Scott were next and to everyone's surprise Tank was able
to topple Scott. Of course, all of a sudden Frank is giving lots
of coaching advice to Tank. Seems he wanted Tank to win. So the
final was Frank and Tank. Tank gave it a great try but was not able
to stop Frank. Frank now has won 4 times. He only needs to win one
more and the great sword will be his and the Stab-N-Grab will reset
with everyone starting over. Frank was very, very pleased with his
win and feels somewhat redeemed now that he has the most wins under
his belt again. Funny how he got really reinspired when Filip got
his third win. We'll just have to see how long it takes Frank
to have a perfect day with no touches against him in order get the
fifth win, after all it only took him 25 weeks to get his fourth win.
