The fencing center was full of activity all afternoon. The Boy Scouts
had a training session and a mini-tournament before the Stab-N-Grab.
Coach Wang and Coach Van Dyke were giving lessons and the Stab-N-
Grabbers filled all the empty strips. The closer we got to 2pm the
more people showed. Scott Carlson showed up and got a cheer from
everyone in the room after being out for a couple of months for knee
surgery. Kris showed up at the last moment filling the last position
on the 16 person tableau.

Greg had drawn the high card and thought he had a bye until Kris showed
up. Needless to say Greg was not pleased that a previous Stab-N-Grab
winner was his first bout. His fears were justified when he lost in
the first round. Alan and Libby fought with Libby just sqeaking past
Alan. John and Jessica were next with John toppling last week's winner.
Ava and Michele followed with Michele taking the win in her foilist
style. Jack and Deanna fought with Deanna's longer reach taking the
win. James and Frank fought next. The room was routing for James to
take out Frank (since he starts three down due to his previous wins).
James was not able to take him down and Frank got to round two. Scott,
a litte out of practice started against Everett (and was none too happy
about it, he was hoping for an easier start). Apparently the Epee god
wanted Scott to get a full measure of fencing and gave Everett the win.
Stephanie and Filip finished the first round with Filip taking the win.

Kris and Libby started round two with Kris easily winning. John and
Michele were next with Michele winning over the novice. Deanna had to
face Frank and received tons of advice from the bystanders to be
aggressive. Deanna did her best but Frank took the win. I should also
mention that the crowd was very much against Frank as it seems the
frig was not stocked with beer for the post-fencing cool down. Everett
and Filip were last. It is a beautiful thing to watch such smooth
fencers, especially since Everett is an "attacker" type and Filip is
way more defensive. Since Filip started down three and Everett only
down one Everett was able to take the victory.

Kris and Michele started round three. Michele gave it a valiant try but
Kris proved the more experienced fencer. Frank and Everett followed.
Again the crowd was pretty much against Frank, for oh, so many reasons.
The only noticable exception was Scott who was routing for Frank. He
claimed it was because he had been away for so long. I guess absence
does make the heart grow fonder. In the end though, the crowd got its way
and Everett walked away with the win. The final was Kris and Everett.
Everett so wanted to win this time. He's been second place several times
but only a winner once. Alas, today was not his day and the Epee god
turned his face from Everett and Kris took his second win.
