It was a dark and stormy night, well, okay, it was a hot and sunny
afternoon for the twenty-first Stab-N-Grab. Seventeen competitors
gathered to try their hands to win Pierre Reposte. Because we
started with seventeen competitors we actually had one pre-round bout.
Austin and Evan fought to get their first round spot. It was Austin's
victory. This earned him the right to face Ava in the first round.
Austin faced Ava and took the win. James and Frank were next with
James defeating Frank in a new record of 23 seconds. And who said epee
was a slow event. Michele and Tank fought next with Tank steamrolling
Michele. In a great battle Everett and Edwin were next. It was an out-
standing display of epee-ship with Everett winning the day. Jack and
Jessica were next with Jessica taking the win. Once again, Libby and
Filip faced off with Filip winning again. Eric and Deanna were next
and Deanna did her best to take down the energetic Eric but he took
the victory to move up. The last bout of the first round was Alan and
Alecz. Both being fleching experts the battle lived up to everyone's
expectations with Alecz toppling Alan.
Round two started with Austin taking on James and moving on to the
next round. Tank and Everett saw Tank blasting through Everett's defenses
to move to the next round. Jessica and and Filip were up with Filip
once again moving up. Eric and Alecz faced off with Eric
taking the victory and so ended round two.
Austin and Tank started round three with Austin in a surprise upset taking
Tank down. Filip and Eric were up and although Eric spent most of the
time at the red line at his end of the strip he took the win and Filip
lost his chance at win number four and stays tied with Frank at three
wins. The final was Austin and Eric. Austin had won five times to get
to the finals having had that extra first bout. Austin took it to the
limit but today was Eric's turn for his second dance with Pierre. Austin
has been on a tear lately so look for Austin to be joining the winner's
soon.
